Getting Started

The rear of the chimney chase is removed in order to expose the downstairs flue system for removal.

Installing the Fireplace

The chimney chase is repaired by replacing any rotted wood and the new fireplace and flue system is installed.

This picture shows a fireplace at each floor. Fire stops are located at each level.

The Flue Pipe

A look at the double wall flue system. This is a common place for squirrels and birds to get trapped. Typically, the animals will slide down between the two pipes and land on the top of the fireplace inside the chase. It will sound like they are on top of your damper.
